Cookie & storage notice

This notice explains the cookies and browser-storage entries Ricochet Warfaresets, what they’re for, and how to opt out. We use only strictly-necessary technologies — no cross-site tracking, no advertising cookies.

1. Strictly-necessary cookies

These are required for the service to function. Disabling them will break sign-in or payments.

  • Authentication (Clerk).When you sign in, our auth provider Clerk sets short-lived session cookies on its own subdomain. They’re used to keep you logged in across page loads. See Clerk’s privacy policy at clerk.com/legal/privacy.
  • Payments (Stripe). Stripe Checkout sets its own cookies on stripe.com to prevent payment fraud. We never see those cookies. See stripe.com/cookies-policy.

2. Browser localStorage

We store small preference and gameplay-state values directly in your browser’s localStorage. These never leave your device unless you sign in (in which case the equipped loadout is mirrored to our database to follow you across devices).

  • ricochet:audio-muted, ricochet:audio-volume — your audio preferences;
  • ricochet:player-name — your guest display name;
  • ricochet:bot-count, ricochet:bot-difficulty — your offline-bot settings;
  • ricochet:equipped-cosmetics — currently equipped turret/projectile/trail/etc;
  • ricochet-leaderboard — your local personal-best leaderboard cache;
  • ricochet:referral— pending referral attribution captured from a friend’s share link, so we can credit them when you sign up.

3. How to opt out

You can clear all of the above by clearing your browser’s site data for ricochetwarfare.com from your browser settings. To stop the auth and payment cookies from being set at all, you would need to stop using the service — sign-in and checkout cannot function without them.

4. Future analytics

We may add a privacy-conscious analytics tool (such as PostHog or Plausible) post-MVP to help us improve gameplay. If we do, we will list it here, give you a clear opt-out, and seek explicit consent in regions that require it before any such tool loads.
